Designing & Implementing Features
Throughout my career, I have managed various departments, including those requiring a high level of technical expertise, such as Quality Assurance and Database Product Management. In a fast-paced technology company, it is a top priority that the product and technical teams collaborate seamlessly. As a Product Manager I made it a priority for me and my teams to understand the technology, the database, and the infrastructure to ensure this collaboration.

Requirements are Key
User Stories
I have written hundreds of specification documents and managed many product managers in creating them. These documents range from extremely technical specifications to simple third-party marketplace integrations and everything in between. I have written them as complete Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) or as Epics with user stories in JIRA. The key to successful requirements documents is to define who the product is for, why it's being built, detailed user flow, clear acceptance criteria, and good designs. Most importantly, they should be a collaboration between product, development, QA, and key stakeholders.

Process is Important
Agile Process
Everyone says they are Agile, with varying degrees of strictness, but what’s more important is to use Agile effectively and tailor it to fit the teams, product, and overall organizational goals. At Hostway, I took an Agile course and implemented the process there and at WellRight. Click on the image below to open a sample document explaining how the process worked within our project management system, Shortcut (similar to Jira).

Backend is Just as Important
Rockset Upgrade
Technology is always evolving, and it's essential to work with technical teams to pivot and react to current trends. For example, we identified data syncing issues, so my team collaborated with Development to prioritize and replace our backend data processing system to handle large-scale data processing.
